Cabbage On A Stick

High on a remote shore in Hawaii, Lil Dude Troll
finds the elusive Cabbage On A Stick!

Brighamia Insignis - in the campanula family and more commonly known as "Cabbage On A Stick." This plant is on the critically endangered list and is now found only on a few remote sea cliffs on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. As of 2011, only 20 individual plants were known to still exist in the wild. The extinction of its only known pollinator, the Sphingid moth, has made it impossible for the plant to reproduce on its own. Conservationist go to great lengths to exchange pollen among the remaining plants and then to collect the seeds which are grown in a few botanical gardens or stored in seed vaults.
