Founded in 1856, the Old Ebbitt Grill on 15th Street in Washington, D.C. is the city's oldest bar and restaurant. It is famous for hosting numerous U.S. Presidents and was featured in the movie "Line of Fire" showing Clint Eastwood sitting at the bar. It has been mentioned in 6 novels; the Brad Thor novel
Path of the Assassin,
The Outlaws by W.E.B. Griffin,
The Pravda Messenger by Robert Cornuke,
The Athena Factor by W. Michael Gear,
House Justice by Joe DeMarco, and
The Green Trap by Ben Bova.
It is perhaps most famous now though for hosting Little Dude Troll at an early evening dinner. Reportedly, sales of burgers have tripled since word got out!
